Emanuele’s Story
Emanuele has always been a healthy child. On April 10th 2007 he went to the hospital San Raffele of Milan for a simple appendicitis’s surgery.
During his pre-anaesthesia, he was lacking in oxygen for 15 minutes. (Nobody knows the reason of this failure yet.) Then he was ospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit for 2 months. Since his Cerebral Spinal Fluid’s pressure was excessively increasing, doctors decided to remove his frontal bones.
On May 28th 2007 he was discharged with his cerebral cortex destroyed, his brain like leoprard’s stain, without his frontal bones and in a neuro-vegetative coma. He was hospitalized in a rehabilitation’s hospital named "La nostra famiglia" at Bosisio Parini (Lecco). Since that moment, he has been feeded by artificial feeding. On September 10th 2007 he came back to San Raffaele hospital to put his frontal bones. He totally had 5 surgeries. Now he still is at Bosisio hospital.

Emanuele’s safety
Emanuele needs many cares to be a healthy child again.
Although he is in a “irreversible coma” (that is brain dead), we are his parents and keep fighting with the help of our families and friends.
We will never leave off our researches about new informations: a more quick rehabilitation or a care in the vanguard or also a possible, umpteenth surgery in Italy or in the world.
Emanuele’s safety could be at Cleveland, where there is a specialized hospital: there, doctors were able to achieve miracolous results on their patients, through the insertion of special microchips in those injured areas of their brain.
